The Gare de Metz was built during the German era in the neo-Romanesque style, and has been preserved to this day as a majestic historical monument. It is considered one of the most beautiful sights in the city, and it also has a clock tower that includes a statue of the Frankish knight Roland (representing the German imperial protection of the city). The departure hall of the station looks like a church and the arrival hall looks like a palace, and it works to this day to transport passengers and goods.
