Located in Taichung City, south of the mouth of the Dajia River, Gumi Wetland is a 1,500-acre mixed land that combines sand and soil textures, which explains why it is a complex wetland environment, yet it is rich and has the largest collection of plant wealth in Taiwan. The many diverse geographical features in it, made its environment very rich, and every year in the winter and autumn great flocks of migratory birds come here either for a short or long stay during the winter, to serve as the best place for bird watching.
