Housed and residence dedicated to the medieval king of the estate, the Gammel Estrup Museum is Denmark's leading real estate museum. The museum was founded in 1930, and its activities include preserving and developing folk history, in addition to researching and presenting the history of Danish palaces in general. The museum conducts research into all aspects of the city's historic mansions, including architecture, landscapes, culture, history, agriculture, and economics - both nationally and internationally for each one.
