Gabrovo Zoo was established in 1973 and is located near the National Astronomical Observatory, Planetarium and Gradisht Castle. It is home to 150 animals of 40 different species. It protects animals spread in the Central Balkans, such as fox, jackal, wolf, brown bear, and owl, Hummingbirds, loires, goats, dwarf goats, peacocks, green ducks, chameleons, and others, and there is also an area for exotic shiny cats. This wonderful garden is intended for about 40,000 visitors annually.
