This reserve was created in order to put an end to the illegal trade, exploitation and abuse of animals in captivity, and to protect them in the wild. It is one of the few animal sanctuaries in Europe that provides a home for several species of chimpanzees and other rescued primates, where they can live in natural surroundings. The visitor can see the animals in the wild through the tours that are held by the guides. It's an important animal protection project.
