Opened in the 1960s, the Mullenhof Open Air Museum houses about 30 historic buildings, large and small, that have been moved from their original locations to create a hamlet made up of houses and windmills from 1619, a cemetery yard from 1720, a bakery, a quarry, a carpentry, a school, etc., to be a representative model of the old villages. This museum aims to convey a clear picture of the life and work of the people in the rural areas surrounding Münster in the past.
