Fort Saint Agatha is a defensive stone tower 20 meters in diameter and 13 meters high. It was built in 1531 on top of a hill overlooking the small town of Hyeres to protect the coast and port from frequent pirate attacks. It originally housed a large artillery battery, but now includes an observation deck. A small exhibition dedicated to the history of Porquerolles, it hosts Port Cross National Park activities.
