In 1897, the Randers City Council purchased a huge plot of land and planted it and turned it into a forest. Today, the forest is one of Denmark's largest forests and is a mixture of coniferous wood, oak and beech with a touch of natural forests. In the forest you can find burial mounds from the Stone Age, there are hills and slopes with good opportunities for playing and many suspended walking paths that give you the opportunity to have an interesting adventure, and in summer you can see many frogs and other small animals in the wet forest floor.
