Five Gates Castle This historic castle located in the town of Foga near the city of Izmir, near the port in particular, was seized by the Genoese from the Byzantines and restored, which had been built in the eleventh or twelfth century, and the Ottomans, who seized the city of Foga in 1455, repairing the castle walls and adding towers that still stand today. The castle, which is one of the must-see historical buildings in Fogga, was included in the Tentative List of UNESCO World Heritage in 2013.
