Famous writer Ernest Hemingway's 13-acre farm on a hillside overlooking Havana is preserved as a museum and has a house built in 1886 by Catalan architect Miguel Bajor on a hill about 15 km east of Havana. From the back balcony and the adjacent tower one has an excellent view of downtown Havana. This farm preserves the writer’s life and books and gives the visitor an idea of his most important livelihood and source of inspiration to write his most famous works in his tower or on his boat, where he left everything as it was at home.
