Information about Fadhloun Mosque
The Fadloun Mosque dates back to the fourteenth century and consists of three sections: a mosque that stands in the middle of a fenced courtyard, the floor of which is painted with lime paint, and internal annexes that include a main hall that was dedicated to teaching the Qur’an, and next to it are two small rooms, one for housing and the other for keeping supplies , and external annexes that include a chapel and a Koranic school Opposite them is a grain mill and an underground bakery. As for the mosque, it is relatively spacious and has a short and wide minaret whose outer walls were supported by shoulders, which indicates military interests, because the Fadloun Mosque is a link in a chain of mosques that, close to the coast, constituted a second defensive line in the event of an attack by invaders.
