The new Municipal Stadium was inaugurated on November 7, 1993, to synchronize the National League Championship in Division Two B in the 1993-94 season. However, it was "officially" inaugurated on February 8, 1994, with a festival of matches, and the first match was held in Cordoba FC against FC Barcelona which at the time was one of the best matches to be seen.
