The cathedral and Basilica of San Felix are religious buildings dedicated to the worship of the Catholic community, dating from the early days of Christianity. The Basilica of Sant Felix, which received the title Lower Basilica in 2011, was the main temple of Girona before the construction of the current Santa Maria Cathedral. Although its history dates back to the beginning of Christianity, the current building corresponds mainly to Gothic construction in the 14th century. This church is distinguished by its embrace of the tapestry of creation that dates back to the eleventh century, a Christian sarcophagus dating back to the fourth century, the largest Gothic nave in the world, and the altar stone that dates back to the eleventh century.
