Information about Dougga
Doga or Thuja was a Berber and Roman stone settlement located near present-day Tiborsork in northern Tunisia. It covers a large area of more than 70 hectares of magnificent ruins, providing an unparalleled scenic view of its vast olive groves and grain fields. Doga enjoys its protected monuments such as tombs. The arches, the great Roman theater (3,500 seats), the Capitol, which depicted the ascension of Emperor Antoninus to divinity, the Temple of Juno Calistes surrounded by a circular text portico, and other monuments dating back to the second and third centuries and the prosperity period of Roman Africa, which is considered one of the best preserved monuments in the entire Roman world .
