The Dom Diogo de Sousa Regional Archaeological Museum supports archaeological research and the preservation and promotion of archaeological sites and regional artefacts through exhibitions and educational activities. It has been open to the public since June 2007 in a new building with a collection of preserved Roman antiquities. Its permanent exhibition begins in the corridor at The entrance with a brief explanation of the museum's history is followed by an archaeological collection stretching from the Paleolithic to the early Middle Ages.
