The Eger Castle houses the Estefan Dobó Castle Museum. The permanent exhibitions of this museum reflect the history of the castle, the underground fortress system, and the means and tools of torture in the Middle Ages. The remains of destroyed cathedrals can also be seen, and the marble covering of the tomb of Estefán Dobó, the captain of the castle who defended it in 1552, and most of the museum's collections are archaeological materials, with more than 44,000 objects, including more than ten thousand ethnographic holdings, including folk home textiles and costumes.
