Information about Dickson House Cultural Centre
The Dickson House is the home of the British Political Resident in Kuwait, Harold Richard Dickinson (Harold Richards Dixon). The history of the establishment of the house dates back to the early nineteenth century, and it belonged to one of the well-known Kuwaiti merchants in the past, Jassim bin Muhammad bin Ali Al-Asfour. In 1929, Colonel Dixon was appointed as Britain's delegate in Kuwait, and he made this house his residence. The house is still attributed to Colonel Dixon to this day. After his death, his wife, Umm Saud, rented this house until 1990. After her death, the house was included in the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters. .
