Information about Daishoin Temple
Daishuin Temple was founded in 806, at the foot of mount Misen, which is one of the worth visiting sites in Hiroshima. The main priest of Itsukushima Shrine resided there until the Meiji period when Buddhism and Shinto separated. The temple is distinguished by its amazing details and the huge number of statues that vary among themselves in size and shape, in addition to the fact that its cave is filled with Buddhist icons believed to give blessings.
