Hiroshima is located on the island of Honshu, overlooking the Gulf of Hiroshima. It is the capital and largest city of Hiroshima Prefecture. Hiroshima embraces many distinctive and diverse tourist attractions, the most important of which are; Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park, which was established in memory of the victims of the world's first nuclear attack in 1945 AD, Hiroshima Castle, which includes a museum that highlights the history of the city and the castle, and the Hiroshima Museum of Art, which consists of 8 international art galleries. Hiroshima is characterized by its picturesque nature, surrounded by mountains and oceans, and its most famous natural landmarks are Shoki-en Park on the banks of the Ota River, which includes many mountains, valleys, bridges of various sizes, and the shrine island, where deer can be seen walking on the outskirts of the island and in the midst of trees, and Mitaki-dera temple known as The Temple of the Three Falls is located at the foot of Mount Mitaki.
