Combe Besset Down is a nature preserve of medieval cliffs, meadows, agricultural fields and terraces, where sheep and livestock are raised, and is home to many birds, butterflies, lizards, grasshoppers and a variety of colorful flowers represented by the bee orchid, Wiltshire and other species that bloom In late May and early June.
