It is an old royal palace with a very interesting history, converted into an antique hotel, where you will see the ancient French decoration and furniture since the Middle Ages, although a few rooms are furnished to date. The present monument forms only part of the former Capetian dynasty's palace. Charles V stopped using the palace in the 14th century, and decided to set up his own courts of law here. At the end of the eighteenth century, many prisoners held by the Revolutionary Court were held in the Conciergerie, including Marie Antoinette.
