The Clock Tower in Konak Square is one of the most prominent landmarks in Izmir today. It was built by architect Raymond Charles Pere in 1901 to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the coronation of the Ottoman Sultan Abdul Hamid Ibrahim. 25 meters and consists of four levels in an octagonal plan. The North African-style capitals show the architectural character of the tower, in addition to the presence of fountains on all four sides of the tower.
