The Roman Catholic Church of St. Ignatius of Loyola is located in Jehlava, in Masaryk Square. The most distinctive feature of this church are two Gothic sculptures from the end of the fourteenth century. It also includes a number of statues of saints, including St. Ignatius of Loyola, after whom the church is named Saint John the Baptist and a statue of the Virgin Mary, and a large fresco on the ceiling painted in 1717 by Karel František Tepper. The church is considered a distinctive tourist landmark and an important religious tourism destination in the region, due to its historical importance.
