This neighborhood was called by this name because most of the residents of the neighborhood are Christians. This neighborhood is located northwest of the old city and extends from the staircase of Bab al-Zayt in the middle of the market to Bab al-Khalil. The Church of the Holy Sepulcher is located in this neighborhood, opposite the Omar Ibn Al-Khattab Mosque and the Greek Orthodox Church. A number of schools and educational buildings such as the Lutheran School are located in this neighborhood. This neighborhood is an ideal place with souvenir shops, cafes, restaurants, goldsmiths and jewelers and many other shops that make the neighborhood a prominent tourist destination in the city.
