There are quite a few old buildings in Chisinau that attract the eye of the beholder, one of which, without a doubt, is the Chisinau City Hall, an architectural landmark in itself, located in the central part of the city, standing majestically on the corner of Stefan cel Mare Street and Vlaiko Street Barcalab. This two-storey building originated in the early 20th century, and is characterized by a classic Italian Gothic style with a quadrangular plan, and an elegant facade with arched windows crowned with ornaments of triangular arches.
