Realizing the importance of the currency that circulated in Sri Lanka through the ages, the Central Bank of Sri Lanka has established this museum, which is affiliated with the Central Bank of Sri Lanka, where it displays a large collection of coins used in Sri Lanka’s history. The third century BC, as well as the currency that was used during the colonial rule of the country until the last issue of coins, to the period of self-government and then to the stage of independence.
