Cavusin Church or Cave Church is one of the oldest, largest and most ancient cave churches in Cappadocia. The church's history dates back to the early 15th century, the time of the church's expansion in the Byzantine Empire, when the large church was the central place of worship for the local community. According to the inscription on the front arch, the church was dedicated to John the Baptist. The church was distinguished by its stone carving, which made it a distinctive marvel that still stands proudly to this day.
