Kaysersberg Castle is 23 minutes from the French city of Colmar. It was built in 1227 in order to control the axis of an important passage between the Hautes of Alsace and Lorraine, but during the Thirty Years' War (1618-1648) the castle, its house and ancillary buildings were burnt down and neglected until it was listed as a historical monument. It was built in 1841, and it is worth noting that it offers stunning panoramic views of the town of Kaysersberg and its surroundings, so do not miss the climb to its summit and enjoy these wonderful views.
