Fleckenstein Castle has medieval origins, and it held its place for 4 centuries before it was destroyed by French forces in 1680. It is one of the attractions frequented by tourists from different regions, near and far, as it is located on a high rocky top and provides a charming view of everything that surrounds it. It was built in the form of a 52-meter-long boat with the aim of controlling the roads linking Alsace and Lorraine and protecting Hagenau. It has an innovative design that used to collect rainwater, and its tower and carved rooms are still in good condition to this day.
