Information about Casa Rocca Piccola
If you want to see something a little different when visiting Valletta, here you will find what you want. Often described as a "living museum", it is the only privately owned mansion open to the public in the city. Built over 400 years ago, it is now the ancestral home of a noble Maltese family. On your tour you will see interesting things such as the 18th century golden sedan chair which was carried to Valletta by Turkish slaves. There are literally hundreds of wonderful things, including modern and interspersed paintings of ancestors. You'll also see a network of tunnels cut between the rocks under the building, which were used as fire shelters in World War II. It accommodated more than 100 people to take shelter from the Nazi bombs pouring into Valletta.
