The Calvary Garden is the most important public park in Guimarães, created at the initiative of former mayor José Florêncio Soares, and officially opened on December 26, 1892, and is an ideal destination for recreation, entertainment, watching theatrical performances, fireworks and listening to Music played by different bands, and the park also features a picturesque lake and areas completely covered with lush cedar trees, linden trees and northern oaks.
