Cadmans Cottage was built of sandstone in the early 1800s, and is one of the buildings that remain from the first 30 years of the colony's construction. Over the years, this cottage has served as a water transport headquarters, sailors' home and water police station, and today many locals and foreign tourists visit to meet government boat superintendent John Cadman.
