Founded in 1872, this time-honored museum was the first in Mumbai. Inside, it showcases the city's cultural heritage and history through a rare collection of fine and decorative arts that shed light on early modern art practices. The permanent collection includes clay figurines, maps, lithographs, Photographs, and rare books documenting the lives of the people of Mumbai and the city's history from the late eighteenth century to the early twentieth century.
