Information about Beylerbeyi Palace
This picturesque palace was built in the 19th century and is located in the Asian part of Istanbul. This summer residence of the sultans was used to host foreign heads of state visiting the Ottoman capital, and several palaces were built and demolished on this site over the years. As for this existing palace, the structure was built between 1861 and 1865 AD, at the time of the authorities, Mahmoud II, and contains six bedrooms and 26 smaller rooms. On the outside, the palace overlooks the Bosphorus, and is surrounded by a number of wonderful gardens that give the palace a special beauty and splendor.
