On the banks of the Garonne, the Basilica of Our Lady of Dourad, home to the Black Virgin adorned with her most beautiful gowns, signed by Christian Lacroix, Jean-Charles de Castelbajac and other great designers, was built in the 5th century on the ruins of an ancient temple. It is characterized by its mosaic decorations filled with golden leaf shapes, and inside it includes a group of huge paintings that reflect the life cycle of the Virgin Mary.
