Information about Barrage Vauban
The Vauban Dam contains a bridge, arches, dam and defensive works erected in the seventeenth century in the city of Strasbourg in France, as it was built from 1686 to 1690. At that time the place was known as the Great Lock, but today it is a sculpture gallery with a wide balcony on its roof. The arches have 13 arches 120 meters long, and inside the building a closed passage connects the two banks. The roof was reconstructed in 1965-1966 in order to build the panoramic terrace. Do not miss out on visiting this beautiful historical landmark.
