Baghdad Street extends between Kadikoy and Maltepe for a distance of 14 kilometers on the Asian side of Istanbul, and is one of the most popular shopping destinations in the city and the most lively in the world. It was named "Baghdad Street" after the Baghdad military campaign by the Ottoman Sultan Murad IV. Today, it houses a large number of retail stores and the most famous brands. It is also pedestrian-friendly with wide sidewalks and one-way traffic, and also includes a variety of high-end restaurants and cafes.
