The Ataturk Dam is located on the Euphrates River in the southeast of the Turkish Anatolia region near the province of Adiyaman. It is a rock-filled dam with a central core. It was completed in 1990. It took 7 years to build. It is now the focus of the Southeast Anatolia Project. The Ataturk Dam is the largest Among the 22 dams and 19 hydroelectric power stations along the Tigris and Euphrates rivers, it ranks fifth in the world with an impressive length of 1,820 meters and a height of 184 meters, and offers an enchanting landscape.
