Information about Armenian Quarter
The Armenian Patriarchate Road runs south from the citadel, and is the main street in the small Armenian quarter of the Old City. Within the narrow lanes here are St. James's Cathedral and St Mark's Church, which receive far fewer visitors than in the Old Town. Armenians have been part of Jerusalem's community for centuries, having first arrived in the city during the 5th century. This is the quietest corner of the old city to explore and is a good place to wander, walk and learn about the features of this neighborhood and its rich history.
