Information about Ardastra Gardens Wildlife Conservation Centre
Located in the heart of the city, this stunning park extends over an area of 4 acres and is covered in lush tropical forests, and is home to many types of protected animals such as flamingos, parrots, peacocks, ducks and many more. This garden was designed by the Jamaican horticulturist Hedley Edwards in 1937, and he was keen at the time to give it a comfortable and relaxing feel, away from the noise of recreational places and resorts in the Bahamas, and he succeeded in that, as the place gives a sense of calm upon entering.
