Information about Antoniades Gardens
Antoniadis Gardens are gardens that some historians date back to the Ptolemaic period in Egypt. They are the oldest gardens in the city of Alexandria, and are also considered among the oldest gardens established by man in the world, dating back to the years between 240-310 BC. In the nineteenth century, the gardens became the property of a rich Greek and were known by his name “Pastieri Gardens”, but this did not last long, as Muhammad Ali Pasha owned them and built a palace for him in them, and then Khedive Ismail owned it and added elements to it similar to the gardens of Versailles Palace. It is still one of the most beautiful gardens in Egypt, so do not miss the opportunity to visit it!
