In 1624 AD, the Dutch built the first fortress in Anping in Tainan, called "Zelandia Fort", now known as the old Anping Fort, as it was the administrative center of the Dutch system and a center for trade, and the building was originally built in the form of a square inner castle and rectangular outer walls. In 1661, the castle was renamed Anping to commemorate his birthplace when the Dutch were expelled from Taiwan. Today, the fortress has been added to the Tainan City Register of Tourist Attractions, and has been renovated and restored so that visitors can see the remnants of history.
