The Parliament House, which is located on Ostorvolor Square, was built in 1880, and two annexes were added to the original building later. Parliament decided to celebrate the millennium of the settlement of Iceland by holding a national festival in 1874, and by building the Parliament Building in Reykjavik from Icelandic stone. There is a park adjacent to the Parliament Building and is the oldest public park in Iceland, and you can visit it to learn about its history and take memorial photos near it.
