The history of Al-Qusayr Castle dates back to the Ottoman era, specifically to the year 1589 AD. It was built by the Ottoman Sultan Selim II. The date of its construction was estimated based on information mentioned in a dated letter found in Qasr Ibrim in Nubia. Al-Qusayr Castle was built to protect the eastern borders from any external aggression. Visitors will find when they visit the castle four high towers and high walls built of limestone and small holes at the top of the castle placed for shooting arrows and many more, do not miss the opportunity to visit it if you are a fan of history.
