Jassasiya rock carvings, or as it is also called Jassasiya Mountain, is an archaeological area with distinctive inscriptions dating back to prehistoric times, and includes residential ruins and pottery remnants (from the fifteenth century) in northwest Qatar. The carvings in the fossil sand dunes include geometric shapes, animals and ship shapes. This mountain is the largest rock art site in Qatar with more than 900 inscriptions scattered over 580 numbered sites.
