Al Hail Fort was previously used as the headquarters of the ruling family in Fujairah. It was built about 250 years ago, and it played an important role in defending the area, as it was used as a base for observation and patrols to protect Fujairah from attack. There is not much left today, as the original fortifications have long since been demolished, save for a single two-level tower, which sits on the hill as a reminder of the days when these forts spread across the strategic hills of the UAE.
