Hoggar National Park or Hajar National Park is one of the largest national parks and nature reserves in Algeria, located mostly in the Saharan region in the southern part of the country, and covers approximately 450,000 square kilometers extending to include the Sahara, the undulating sand dunes, the lush oasis of Tamanrasset and the Hoggar Mountains. It has a rich ecosystem that includes towering jagged rocky mountains, unique plants, perennial grasslands and many species of wildlife.
