Tamanrasset, also known as Tamanrasset, is located in the Hoggar Mountains region in southern Algeria. It originated primarily as a military post guarding the trade routes across the Sahara. It became an important station on the north-south asphalt road. Today it is an oasis for the Berber Tuareg, characterized by its red houses and mountains. Its rugged landscape and warm climate make it a tourist attraction during the colder months.
