Information about Agia Solomoni Catacomb
The catacombs were built in Agia Solomoni during the Hellenistic period, and were formerly known as the “chapel of the Seven Sleepers” or “the Seven Maccabees.” It consists of an open courtyard surrounded by five rooms carved out of the rock. ; There is also a sacred tree (with healing powers) and decorated with cloth above it. It should be noted that Agia Solomoni was one of the first people to reject idolatry and convert to Christianity on the island.
