Tebessa is an Algerian city with an ancient history, located in eastern Algeria, a border area with Tunisia, and it is the capital of the state of Tebessa. The city was given this name in relation to the first Berber origin that was given to it by its original inhabitants, which is believed, according to the ancient Lubyan translation, to mean the lioness (female lion). The city has a long civilized history, where various tribes and civilizations have succeeded, leaving traces, most of which still exist to this day, such as the Caracalla Triumphal Arch, the Byzantine wall, the amphitheater, the Roman church, and many other distinctive historical monuments. The city has a commercial importance, as it includes the Tebessa airport for air transport, which adds an atmosphere to economic life in it.
